Forget about fluffing the cushions, it’s time to spring clean your body from the inside out!
If you are what you eat, what should you be putting in your shopping basket to accompany your healthy detox program – without causing an avocado drought or quinoa shortage? Let’s keep it simple. One word: Chlorophyll.
Swisse Naturopath Cheryl Goodman gives us the lowdown on those questions we’re all thinking about the super green.
What is it?
Chlorophyll is the green pigment found in plants and is a naturally rich source of antioxidants. It’s most popular form is liquid.
Why do I need it?
It’s a great addition to your healthy diet! Antioxidants help to reduce damage caused by free radicals in the body. Today’s lifestyle challenges (hello pollution, stress, poor dietary choices, smoking and drinking alcohol) can lead to an increase in free radical exposure, so it can be of great benefit if we ensure our diets are packed full of antioxidants*.

Chlorophyll is also alkaline, which can support a healthy detox program. A diet abundant in alkaline foods encourages healthy pH levels throughout the digestive and urinary tracts, helping to reduce acidity. Bonus: a lot of rich sources of chlorophyll like green leafy vegetables are also rich in fibre, which can help your body remove toxins.
What do I do with it?
