Biotin is water-soluble vitamin, usually classified as belonging to the B-complex group of vitamins. Dietary sources of biotin include egg yolk, liver, nuts and legumes and wholegrains.


Functions and general science:

Biotin has an important role in the pathways which are essential for metabolic function.  Supplemental or dietary biotin is absorbed from the intestines, though the bacteria that colonise the large intestine are also capable of making their own biotin.
