General Description:

Buchu leaves and oil of buchu were used by the indigenous people of the Cape area of South Africa for hundreds of years.

The leaves are the part most commonly used for therapeutic benefits and are harvested whilst the plant is flowering and fruiting. They possess an aromatic taste and a blackcurrant-peppermint-like odour. 

Functions and General Science:

Buchu is traditionally used in herbal medicine for it’s urinary antiseptic action and mild diuretic properties.
